On 19 March 2026, European Commission is organizing a hybrid event on topic "Safe and Sustainable by Design: Accelerating the Industrial Transition".
The event is aiming to bring together industry representatives, policymakers, researchers and innovators to discuss the role of the SSbD approach in Europe’s industrial transition. The conference will also kick off the work on the EU Innovation and Substitution Hubs, announced under the Chemical Industry Action Plan. These hubs aim to support companies, particularly SMEs, in developing, testing and scaling up SSbD innovations.
The event seeks to strengthen cooperation among SSbD projects across the EU, enhance knowledge sharing, and foster the development of collaborative initiatives.
