Moldova State University (USM) is a state higher education institution, the mission of which consists in:
- training highly qualified staff for the national economy, able to operate under the evolving conditions of life and the market economy;
- organizing and conducting fundamental and applied scientific research meant to solve current socio-economic problems and achieve the technological transfer of the university scientific research outcomes.
State University of Moldova aims at:
- ensuring university training in various areas and developing the set of skills needed for socio-professional integration;
- developing scientific potential in the fields of training of specialists;
- coming up with and promoting scientific ideas, theories, conceptions through research carried out by teachers and students;
- promoting general-human and national axiological values/landmarks; creating the ethical and civic profile of the students;
- ensuring the quality of higher education and educational services provided;
- participating in the development of educational policies and strategies, but also in their implementation at the level of higher education;
- Integrating higher and research education into the European area.
