„Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University

„Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University in Chisinau, Moldova (UPSC) is a higher education institution founded in 1940. It aims at the initial and ongoing higher level training of specialists in the field of Education Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, Physical Sciences and Social Assistance, providing them with competitive professional qualifications in the labour market, as well as in the development of the scientific research and valuation of its outcomes. The university consists of five faculties: Faculty of Philology and History, Faculty of Psychology and Special Psycho-pedagogy, Faculty of Educational and Computer Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures.

To achieve the classical (teaching and research) functions of the university, the development strategy is oriented towards achieving the following main areas of priority:

  • affirming the organizational culture, image and institutional identity of UPSC and ensuring specialization of graduates in professions recognized on the labour market;
  • building and developing a curriculum for higher pedagogical education;
  • streamlining the quality of the educational process; - resizing scientific research, showing wide openness to social expectations; developing new scientific knowledge, building new professional competencies;
  • ensuring mobility of students and university teachers through institutional, national, regional and international programs, as well as establishing international and national relations with a significant impact on the quality of research;
  • ensuring a competitive edge, both nationally and internationally, in the field of social sciences, humanities and arts.
